Longest Journey on a Water Bike!

Dave Cornthwaite is an adventurer, speaker, author and 9 time world record breaker from the UK who is best known for his groundbreaking adventures of 1000 miles or more using different non-motorised transport.

Dave has completed 13 journeys to date, and aims to complete 25 journeys in total. Some of his past journeys involved long boarding across Australia, Tandem riding from Canada to the USA and swimming the Missouri River to name a few. The Latest journey involves pedalling across water by bike and Dave aims to make a new world record to add to his existing portfolio of achievements once complete.

The latest journey known as Expedition Norway (Number 14 out of 25) will take around 60-70 days and involves biking across water around the coast of Norway using a specially designed Schiller Bike. Dave will bike " The Express Route" also known as Hurtigruten which is an old ferry and cargo route. On his water bike, Dave will cover over 1000 miles by pedalling across water and if successful, this will be a new world record for the longest journey by bike on water! 

THE HURTIGRUTEN ROUTE BY SCHILLER BIKE COVERS 1000 MILES:

Using a specially designed bike known as the Schiller Bike by Judah Schiller from California, Dave will be able to reach speeds of 5-6 miles per hour and a top speed of 10-11 mph!

USING A UNIVERSAL ADAPTOR, WATERPROOF LIFEPROOF CASE AND BIKE MOUNT, DAVE PLANS TO RECORD HIS DAILY VIDEO DIARY ON HIS PHONE

With a few modifications, Dave has added a custom platform for holding extra gear and of course his Quad Lock mount will be securely fastened to the bike handlebars so Dave can record his journey on the way.

All going well, Dave will finish his journey in under 2 months (started July 2017) and be a new world record holder for the longest journey by water bike! We look forward to following Dave on this adventure and wish him the best of luck!
